Representatives of Russia, Latvia and Estonia will hold open lesson on natural values of the border area

pic_logoIn September 20, 2013 at 15.00 in the Pskov regional center of childhood and youth «Raduga» experts from environmental organizations of Pskov region, Latvia and Estonia will give a charity open lesson for children on natural values of the border area.

Lesson objectives are, first of all, a demonstration of the vast natural wealth of the border area, where we live, and the demonstration of various techniques in the field of nature enlightenment and education, used by experts from Estonia, Latvia and Russia.

The lesson is dedicated to the celebration of the European Cooperation day, which held in September in different European countries. Project Partners of Border Cooperation Programme Estonia-Latvia-Russia also join this celebration, a variety of activities under the theme “Sharing borders, growing closer”. Partners of the GreenMan project marked the day on September 5 planting trees in Mirozhsky Dendropark near the monastery. Open lesson – a joint event of the international partners of the project “Promoting nature education as efficient mean of awareness raising” / PEOPLE WITH NATURE.

Representatives of Tartu Environmental Education Center, Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation (Estonia), Agency for Environmental Protection of Latvia, Museum of Natural History (Riga, Latvia) and Gauja National Park (Latvia), public organisation «Biologists for nature conservation» (St. Petersburg), Pskov regional centre for development of gifted children and youth, Pskov regional public organization «Lake Peipsi project» (Pskov , Russia) will present their achievements in the field of enlightenment and environmental education.

It is noteworthy that the lesson takes place during a charity marathon «Good Pskov». By spreading their knowledge, experience and printed educational materials to students, the project partners thus contributing to the good man’s relationship to nature and the development of cooperation.

The project «People with nature» co-financed by the Estonia-Latvia–Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme within European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument 2007-2013. Total funding of the project is EUR 1.5 millions; contribution of Estonia–Latvia–Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme is about 1.35 millions EURO. The remaining 150 000 EURO – local funds of project partners.
