Representatives of Russia, Latvia and Estonia will become familiar with the experience of the Pskov region in the field of environmental education

pic_logoOn September 17-21, 2013 in the framework of the international project «Promoting nature education as efficient mean of awareness raising» / PEOPLE WITH NATURE study tour will take place in the Pskov region. Study tour organizer – NGO «Lake Peipsi Project, Pskov».

More than 20 experts from Latvia, Estonia and Russia will become familiar with the system of environmental education and awareness in the Pskov region, interactive teaching methods, visit the order of 20 objects: visitor centers, hiking nature trails and natural areas of the National Park «Sebezhsky» and the State Reserve «Polistovsky», estates and museums reserves in Pushkinskie Gory and Stary Isborsk. In addition, participants of the study tour will visit a number of sites of ecological and rural tourism: eco-park «Zoograd» in the village Pushkinskie Gory, as well as «Honey little farm» and «Helga’s Farm» in the Pechory district.

During his visit to the Regional home of childhood and adolescence «Raduga», Pskov partners of PEOPLE WITH NATURE project get acquainted with the system of the institution in the field of environmental education and awareness, as well as hold open lesson on ecology for children in Pskov.

From Pskov region on the trip will be attended by representatives of the State committee on natural resources use and environment protection of Pskov Region, the National Park «Sebezhsky», Pskov regional development center for gifted children and youth and NGO «Lake Peipsi Project, Pskov».

A trip to Pskov region completes the series of study tours Latvian, Estonian and Russian partners of the project PEOPLE WITH NATURE. Earlier similar study tours were organized in Estonia and Latvia.

The project «People with nature» co-financed by the Estonia-Latvia–Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme within European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument 2007-2013. Total funding of the project is EUR 1.5 millions; contribution of Estonia–Latvia–Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme is about 1.35 millions EURO. The remaining 150 000 EURO – local funds of project partners.
